I research the ways that long-standing infrastructures and historical memory interact with the contemporary use of digital tools. I am a postdoctoral scholar on the NSF-funded project “Creating Work/Life” with a team spanning Syracuse University (PI: Ingrid Erickson) and University of California, Irvine (PI: Melissa Mazmanian). I am a research affiliate at the Digital Life Initiative at Cornell Tech in New York City. I live in Queens, NY.

I hold a PhD in Information Science from Cornell University, where I was advised by Steve Jackson (Information Science, committee chair), Karen Levy (Information Science), Marina Welker (Anthropology), Tamara Loos (History), and Nicola Dell (Computer and Information Science). I have a minor PhD concentration in Anthropology and was a member of Cornell’s Southeast Asia Program. I also hold an MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge, and a BA in History and Science from Harvard College.

I have received funding for my research from the National Science Foundation, Intel, Cornell’s Einaudi Center for International Studies, and others. I have partnered in my research with international development organizations including the WHO, UNICEF, and the Clinton Health Access Initiative. I also worked as a financial analyst in the technology-media-telecom sector in Silicon Valley between 2010-2013.
